I stopped all monetary support for Amnesty and for me it really did a lot of damage to the trust of human rights organisations in general. There are many good people working there or with them, but this is just disgraceful at this point.

TFA was written in October. Since then, there has been a (rather ugly) ceasefire.
So it is no longer the worst time to release such a report. We are now stuck reconciling ourselves to a situation where both sides behaved atrociously -- literally, committing atrocities.
Issuing the report will not materially shift history's judgment one way or the other. But it might help Amnesty's reputation as being able to fight for justice no matter who the victim is.
