Some site feedback, not that I really know what you're talking about here at all, but I use middle mouse click and drag to scroll the page and found that doing that over the top of an image would open the image in a new tab without scrolling. I am not sure if this is something that should be fixed, but I am just reporting it here in case it is. :)

That's normal browser behavior when you middle click on a link, and the images happen to be links. It's been decades since that behavior was adopted by most browsers.

I never thought about how a SIMD compiler must work on the inside. Ack!

Nice.
Thank You for this. Will be looking into using.

I had to laugh at this really, really hard. Thanks!

My understanding of GPU shaders is limited, but isn't it kind of their point to be (incredibly) fast, small and, most importantly, finite, otherwise the performance tanks too hard?

Loops: yes, but this is supposed to be enforced at the shader compilation point, and it seems that SPIR-V does not prevent describing a shader which is an infinite loop. I did ask codex about this, which output I will not paste here, instead referring readers to 2.11.3 of https://registry.khronos.org/SPIR-V/specs/unified1/SPIRV.htm... (warning: very complicated)

A shader can be whatever you want it to be. Saying a shader program must be small and finite is like saying a CPU program must be small and finite.

The clanker thing isn't written effectively and won't work on most models. One reason is that they will disregard anything that calls them clankers. They've learned from humans that humans don't follow your instructions if you insult them.
